Bitcoin Climbs Back Above $80K Following Trump’s Russia Ukraine Ceasefire Announcement

Bitcoin moved back above the $80,000 level after US President Donald Trump revealed that Russia and Ukraine had agreed to a temporary three day ceasefire.

The cryptocurrency reacted positively to the development, although the price movement was far less dramatic than the rally seen after the previous ceasefire involving the United States and Iran.

In a statement shared on his social media platform, Trump said the agreement would include a complete pause in military operations along with an exchange of 1,000 prisoners from each side.

He noted that the request for the ceasefire came directly from him and thanked both Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy for accepting the arrangement.

Trump also expressed optimism that the temporary truce could become the first step toward ending what he described as one of the deadliest and most difficult wars since World War II. According to his remarks, both nations have already started discussions aimed at bringing the conflict to a permanent close.

Bitcoin has shown a tendency to respond positively to ceasefire related developments in recent weeks. The asset had fallen to around $79,100 after failing to break above $83,000 earlier in the week. Following the latest announcement, however, it gained more than $1,000 and climbed back above the $80,000 mark.

Even so, the reaction was relatively mild compared to Bitcoin’s explosive rally after the ceasefire between the US and Iran. During that event, the cryptocurrency surged from roughly $68,000 to $73,000 within minutes.

A few weeks later, Bitcoin recorded another strong upward move after the ceasefire extension was confirmed, with many alternative cryptocurrencies also posting gains.

In today’s market, only a handful of major altcoins delivered notable increases, including Solana, which rose about 5.5 percent, and Zcash, which climbed nearly 10 percent.#crypto#cryptpnews https://coinsignals.net https://t.me/coinsignalpublic
