Binance Intensifies Efforts to Secure EU Regulatory Approval

Binance is making a renewed effort to secure regulatory approval in the European Union as the deadline to comply with Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) regulations approaches.

The world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange is facing mounting regulatory pressure that could potentially impact its ability to continue serving customers across the EU. Earlier this month, Reuters reported that Binance’s licensing application through Greece’s Hellenic Capital Market Commission may not receive approval, placing its future operations in the region at risk ahead of the June 30 deadline.

Despite these challenges, Binance has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a presence in Europe. Richard Teng, the company’s CEO, emphasized that the exchange remains focused on obtaining MiCA authorization and continuing to serve its European users under a clear and unified regulatory framework.

According to recent reports from Reuters, Binance is now exploring alternative routes to gain approval within the bloc. Gillian Lynch, Binance’s Head of Europe and the United Kingdom, indicated that the company may pursue a different regulatory pathway if approval through Greece does not materialize.

Lynch noted that if Greece is no longer a viable option, Binance is actively considering other jurisdictions within the European Union.

Reuters also reported that Binance has engaged with regulators in Ireland, Latvia, and Greece. However, the exchange has reportedly faced setbacks in all three jurisdictions. Regulatory concerns reportedly stem from Binance’s past anti money laundering penalties and the complexity of its global corporate structure.

Lynch stated that Binance has communicated with several regulators across the EU, though Greece remains the only country where the company formally submitted an application. She also said there were no unresolved issues related to Binance’s filing and noted uncertainty over why approval had not been granted.

With the MiCA deadline rapidly approaching, Binance’s next steps could prove critical in determining whether the exchange can maintain uninterrupted operations across the European market.#crypto#cryptonews https://coinsignals.net https://t.me/coinsignalpublic
