The asset dropped to a new monthly low before staging a strong recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most large cap altcoins are posting modest daily gains, with Ethereum leading the way after rising above 2050 dollars at the time of writing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bitcoin Falls Then Recovers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bitcoin experienced a strong rally last Monday after Donald Trump suggested that the United States and Iran had made progress in their negotiations. The price surged from 67500 dollars to nearly 72000 dollars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the momentum slowed after Iran rejected those claims, pushing Bitcoin down to around 69000 dollars. The asset regained strength midweek, reaching a weekly high near 72000 dollars on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That level proved difficult to break, leading to a sharp decline. By Friday, Bitcoin had fallen to about 65600 dollars, its lowest level in roughly four weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It quickly recovered above 66000 dollars and spent the weekend moving within a tight range between that level and 67000 dollars. Earlier today, Bitcoin dipped again to just under 65000 dollars, marking a new monthly low, before rebounding to nearly 68000 dollars. The rally stalled following fresh developments related to geopolitical tensions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bitcoin\u2019s market capitalization now stands at approximately 1.35 trillion dollars, while its dominance over altcoins is slightly above 56 percent, according to CoinGecko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ethereum Leads Altcoin Gains<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ethereum, the largest altcoin, has responded positively to the renewed volatility. It has gained around 3 percent over the past day, climbing above 2050 dollars after briefly falling below 1950 dollars earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other major altcoins including BNB, XRP, Solana, TRON, Dogecoin, and Cardano are also showing small gains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the downside, HYPE has dropped by about 4 percent, while Bitcoin Cash remains down roughly 6 percent following a sharp decline the previous day.
