A wave of inflation related economic reports is expected in the United States this week, potentially increasing pressure on financial markets as tensions surrounding the Iran conflict continue to escalate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Crypto markets posted slight gains over the weekend, reaching a weekly peak during Monday morning trading in Asia. However, upcoming inflation data could weigh on market momentum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, US stock futures declined on Monday after peace negotiations linked to the Iran conflict showed little progress. President Donald Trump also expressed dissatisfaction with Iran\u2019s response to the proposed peace deal. At the same time, oil prices jumped roughly 4%, climbing back toward the $100 per barrel mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iran has reportedly refused to dismantle its nuclear facilities as part of the US proposal, prolonging the ongoing deadlock. Investors are also watching Trump\u2019s upcoming visit to China, where he is expected to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Major Economic Events Scheduled for May 11 to 15<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The United States will release April\u2019s Consumer Price Index inflation report on Tuesday. Investors will closely monitor the data for clues about the impact of rising energy prices and the possibility of future Federal Reserve interest rate cuts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Wednesday, the Producer Price Index report will provide additional insight into inflationary pressures, which analysts expect to rise further due to the ongoing Middle East conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thursday\u2019s releases will include April retail sales data and existing home sales figures, both of which may indicate whether consumers remain willing to spend despite elevated energy costs. Weekly jobless claims will also be published the same day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nick Rees, Head of Macro Research at Monex, told the Wall Street Journal that the latest labor market figures are likely to reduce hopes for a near term Federal Reserve rate cut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that a strong labor market could increase the risk of higher energy prices spreading into broader inflation across the economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The total cryptocurrency market capitalization climbed nearly 1% over the last 24 hours, reaching $2.8 trillion on Monday, its highest level since late January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bitcoin led the gains, briefly surpassing $82,300 late Sunday before pulling back toward the $81,000 range during Monday trading in Asia. The leading cryptocurrency has risen steadily, gaining around 11% over the past month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ethereum climbed to approximately $2,380 before facing resistance and easing slightly during Asian market hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most altcoins traded in mixed territory, though XRP, Solana, Cardano, and Sui recorded stronger performances.
